Daren Seekins

Helping people prepare for financial independence is one of the reasons I became a financial advisor. I concentrate on striving to build wealth through strategies that reduce taxes and reflect my clients’ outlook and aspirations. My goal is to assist my clients in reaching financial independence and then managing their resources after retirement. Wealth creation and preservation are the main focus of my practice.

I believe the first step when meeting with my clients is to listen to them. I listen to their questions, needs, goals and the level of comfort with their investments. Together, my clients and I build a plan that helps to meet their objectives.

As a financial planner with Maine Wealth Planning, I am able to provide my clients access to stocks, bonds, mutual funds and other investment opportunities, as well as create a financial plan customized to their needs.

A graduate of Monterey Peninsula College in Monterey, CA, I am a veteran of the US Military, having served in Army Intelligence. I currently hold my Series 7, 9, 10, 63 and 66 registrations with LPL Financial, as well as my Certified Funds Specialist designation. Prior to beginning my career with NPA, I implemented and supervised a branch of Fidelity’s Retirement Investment Services Department.

I currently live in Holden, ME, with my wife. We have two adult daughters.

As a Financial Planner, I provide my clients with a custom plan that helps them navigate through the complex world of retirement planning, investment strategies, tax planning, and insurance options (life, healthcare, disability, long term care, etc.). My goal is to create long term relationships with my clients, helping them adjust their plan and retirement path, as life events and unforeseen situations arise.

I began my work as a Financial Planner in 2018. It has long been a plan of mine to follow in my father’s footsteps. My dad was a financial advisor in Oregon for nearly 40 years and I was lucky enough to help him out in his final two years before he retired. In my career prior to joining Maine Wealth Planning, I have worked in a variety of consulting and service positions, including Darling’s here in Maine and IMG Sports Academy in Florida before that.

Finding an experienced and respected financial planner to partner with was a key part of making my decision to start working with individuals and families on their financial future. Daren Seekins is a well-known fixture in our community, having worked with clients in the Bangor/Hampden area for more than 25 years, both independently and through his partnership with Maine Savings Credit Union, where we both assist members with their financial planning and investment needs.

I currently hold my Series 7 and 66 registrations through LPL Financial. I studied Communications and Business Management at Palm Beach Atlantic University in Florida.

My wife Emily and I live in Bangor, ME, with our two children, Henry and Clara. In my spare time, I enjoy a variety of outdoor activities (including tennis, golf, hiking, and skiing), as well as spending time with family and exploring the Maine coast.
